Hi Mrs. Guevin:
My mom brought home a letter that said some of your students were going to be pen-pals. If there is a student who is 11 or older and needs one, I would love to be a pen-pal. Hope you are doing well. My mom says hi and could never use your toilet!! I liked your website. The pictures really tell a lot!
Sincerely,
Brianna Kinahan

Hi Jeff and Phoebe – I am in a group of people intrigued by the Benin dogs brought home by PCV’s and other travelers – in fact we are trying to get our bunch into the AKC for basenjis – not an easy feat – the AKC has only let in new basenjis once, around 1990. I have two dogs with Benin-born parents. One’s mom is a UKC Champ! (Afonhaan)
I am thinking Victor P Hugo is from Houégbo – is that right? Jensblog had a photo of a pet dog there (red) that is a dead ringer for Afonhaan.
We call our group Avuvi and we work with a gentleman named Nestor Djossou from Allada – a Beninoise friend of a PCV named Chris Starace (of Fon-is-Fun and Friends of Benin)
Anyways, thanks so much for the Hugo photos!
Are you in Benin now? I am coming over Easter to make another dog-grab with Nestor – he is a University student now and cant spend all his time hunting down dogs for us crazy yovos but has a few days off then.
Best
Marie

Hey guys! So I’m doing a French oral presentation on education in Benin, and found your site when I did a google search for Benin map images. Anyway, I felt that since I was here I should leave a message. Hope your second year of service is going well! For all that it’s nice to be in the US for the holidays this year.. I miss peace corps. Happy (belated) thanksgiving –
Antonia
PS Jeff, I have a class with Tanjila, who apparently studied abroad with you. It is a small world.
